Seeking The Truth

It is very important to remember that Peter was an eyewitness to our Lord. He is at the point of death when he writes this epistle so we must listen with a more acute ear to his warnings against heresy.

Why did the chief priest and the pharisees want to kill Jesus?  How do you face your accusers? What about when the cock crow, was that a horn or a real animal? How should I look at Peters denial of Jesus? Was it determined or just prophesied?

What is the kingdom of heaven like? Why did He liken it to five wise and five foolish virgins? What does a man who refused to use his talent have to do with me? Why did he call him wicked? How can I use this chapter and apply it to my walk with God?

In modern Christianity, many claim to be prophets of God. They seem to take this role very lightly without regard for the examples set in the Holy Scriptures. They often speak presumptuously with great swelling words of peace, prosperity, and profit. They are often well-liked and never in any danger. But is that really the role of the prophet. It wasn't the role that Jeremiah had. Listen and discern the difference between the true Prophet of God and the imposters.

The book of the prophet Jeremiah is one of judgment. Who was being judged and why? How long did Jeremiah prophesy? To whom was Jeremiah sent? All of this and more is expounded upon in this introduction to the book of Jeremiah.

Learning to serve is one of the pinnacles of discipleship. This is the lesson Yeshua exemplifies by washing His disciples feet. But what lesson is in this act for us? How important is service in our walk with God? What exactly is "service" to God, is it preaching, teaching, cleaning, etc.? Also, was Judas ever really saved?

No matter what Yeshua does it's just not enough for some. He has raised Lazarus from the dead and now they seek to kill both of them! Are we like the Pharisees who no matter what Jesus has done it's just not what we want? Are we like Judas who walk with Him for gain? Are we like those people whose eyes are blinded and hearts are hardened? Or are we like Mary who gave her best to Jesus? Or like the Greeks who desired to "see" Jesus?

Did you know that parts of this chapter are not in the original manuscripts? What about the woman taken in adultery, did Yeshua condone her actions? What did he mean by "he who is without sin cast the first stone?" Is this His way of saying we should not judge others? Is Abraham's seed spiritual or physical according to this passage? Why did sweet loving Jesus tell  them they were children of the devil? Do you know this Jesus? Listen to his words and know his doctrine so you can represent him better.

Love makes it all work! What is love? Do you know what it is? Paul explains exactly what love is. Do you speak in tongues and have not love? Do you feed the poor and needy and have not love? Paul says all your deeds are unprofitable if you have not love. Are you guilty of being unloving? Measure yourselves by the Word.

The gift of tongues, what is it? Have you ever been to a church where everyone is speaking in tongues? Have someone ever taught you how to speak in tongues? Do you feel that you are speaking in a heavenly language? Do you think you are spirit-filled when you do it? This chapter is for all those who question tongues. Listen and learn what Paul said about it and try the spirit by which you use it.
