Seeking The Truth

What's the big deal about Jesus? Why is the resurrection so important? Why is it a big deal that he was seen by many? How will it be for us when we are resurrected? What sort of body will we have? Will we recognize one another? What is meant by the last trump? The answers may surprise you!

What does God want from his assembly? Does he want us to take up offerings? Is this a priority for God's people? How does he want us to treat those who minister to us? Is it okay if we appoint ourselves to a job within an assembly? How do we help those who are serving? How does our immaturity affect other members of the body? All this and more in this final chapter of I Corinthians.

In this chapter, Jesus goes to Bethany and resurrects Lazarus. John tells us that Jesus loved Lazarus so why did he let him die? Why did he say it was done for God's glory to be manifested? How do you think Mary and Martha felt about Jesus delaying his coming? Why was Jesus troubled? How can I apply these teachings to my life? It's all in this chapter.

Paul warns the Corinthians to obstain from idolatry, fornication, tempting our Lord, and murmuring. He uses the Old Testament to point out examples of these violations against God. But what does this mean for the New Testament saint? Is this also an example to us or are we under grace and safe?

Is it okay for a minister or pastor to live off of the ministry? Did Paul work or did he let the ministry support him? What did Paul mean in the last part of this chapter when he talked about being all things to all men? Does this mean that we should conform to others ways in order to gain them as brothers? How did the apostles of Christ differ from the apostles we see today? how are they the same?

How can I cause my brother to stumble? How should the more mature christian conduct himself with someone who is young in the faith? Is knowledge good or bad? What did Paul mean in the 13th verse when he said "if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth"? Does this mean we should be vegetarians?

What is "due benevolence" and why should I give it to my spouse? If I am fornicating, should I go ahead and get married? Is it okay to "hold out" (no sex) on my husband or wife? Should I leave my unbelieving husband or wife? Is it okay to divorce? Is it okay to remarry if I am divorced? Is it better to stay single and never marry? All these questions and more or answered in this bible study on I Corinthians chapter 7.

How are ministers of the Gospel suppose to conduct themselves? How did the apostles of Christ conduct themselves? Were they popular and well liked? Were they rich? Did many flock to see them? How are they different than the ministers of the gospel we see today?

Jesus is not moved by the chiding of his bothers who urge him to make his ministry public. Jesus does not move at their will, neither does he move at ours; when he is ready he is ready. In this chapter Jesus does no miracles but emphasizes his doctrine. Listen and learn the doctrine Christ proclaimed and measure if you are able to bear it.
