Paul in no uncertain terms tells us in this 16th chapter just who is worthy of commendations. He also lets us know, in no uncertain terms, who is not worthy. Pay close attention to the titles he uses to describe those who are worthy (fellowlabourer, sister, etc.). Not only that, be sure to listen closely to verses 17 and 18. These two verses will help your ability to discern just who is who in the world today. They also provide a guide on how to deal with those whom you may encounter.

What is “replacement theology?” Is the church in a more secure position than Israel is as the “called out” of God? What does it really mean to be “cut off” and “graffed in” the olive tree?

and does the Law have anything to do with salvation. The gospel of Christ has been reduced to two verses of this chapter. But is that what Paul intended to convey as the gospel as a whole? Are those who preach this as the way of salvation, guilty of over simplifying Paul’s letter to the Romans? Or is salvation just as simply as these two verses?
