What is the kingdom of heaven like? Why did He liken it to five wise and five foolish virgins? What does a man who refused to use his talent have to do with me? Why did he call him wicked? How can I use this chapter and apply it to my walk with God?

This is the scariest part of Jesus' discourse in Matthew chapter 24. What did he mean that the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from heaven? What does that mean for us? What did that mean for those who were listening? Listen to the view of some scholars about what Jesus meant when he declared these things to us.

If you ever thought that this chapter was about the end of the world only, listen and be enlightened. Matthew felt it was important for his Jewish audience to know that Jesus was not only the Son of God but he was also a prophet of the impending judgment of those whom He had come to save. Much like Jeremiah and the other prophets, Jesus warned that Jerusalem would be judged for their rejection of Him. Listen and learn the fate of those who did not heed his warnings. See the awe-someness of our Saviour as his prophecy is fulfilled so precisely that gainsayers cannot deny that He is the Messiah.

For those who say that Jesus never judged, you probably haven't read this chapter. Jesus let's the Pharisee's and the Scribes have it! For those who say that you should never call out those who deal deceitfully with the Word of God, you're probably not familiar with the method's of our Lord and Saviour. Take this chapter to heart all who "say and do not". Be reminded of His method's when you are confronted with those who disregard his precepts. Listen and Learn His Ways.
