These are Paul’s last written words to the people at Corinth. He end’s this letter with an exhortation and a call to holy living.
Hardly anybody likes the God of the old testament. People often say he is mean and those who preach and teach the precepts contained therein are accused of beingĀ ”too negative.” Well, those who teach these things are in good company, because this is what others thought of Jeremiah. There were those at that time who flocked to the positvie messages of the positvie prophets. Listen to this chapter of Jeremiah and learn how un’prophet’able a positive message can be.
Israel’s calling from God was a call to holiness, to be set apart for his glory and his use. But Israel was determined to set their own standard and continued to engage in whoredoms contrary to God’s calling. What does this have to do with you? Everything. If God has called you, it is to a life of holiness according to his word. But do you remain in your whoredoms? Learn how it really looks to God when we remain in our selfish ways.
