Most of the time in modern day chrisendom when we hear God is faithful we think of only the pleasurable things. If we can remember what we’ve already discussed in the book of Jeremiah, we will see that God’s faithfulness towards Israel was not only in things pleasurable, but in things terrible as well. God’s judgment for their disobedience was imminent but they refused to turn to Him. God’s word is sure against all unrighteousness, he will remain faithful to his word.

Could you be serving an idol god? Not an image made with hands, but an image made in your mind. Is the god that you serve the God of the Bible? Have you turned the God who is manifested inside of it into a myth? Have you added or taken away from His character? If so, you could be worshipping an idol. Not sure, then listen to Jeremiah’s message to Israel. Find out the things that they did that made God a myth to them and to all who stood by.
