Do you believe that the Old Testament has no place in your christianity? Do you use Pauls epistles to substantiate your claim? The Old Testament has been banned by most folk who claim the liberty that is in Christ. They use a verse from this chapter “the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life” in order to do this. But what did Paul really mean when he said that. How are the old testament and the new testament different. How are they the same? What significance does the old testament play in our understanding of the new. Listen and learn how to defend the entire bible.

Everyone loves promise books, right. All the promises of God collected in one book for your enjoyment. But not all the promises of God are recorded in these books. They always leave out these in John 16. But why? And why do we not look for these signs that the Holy Spirit is present in people? Why do we look for tongues and rolling on the floor and healing instead of what Jesus said we should look for. Jesus explains the role of The Holy Spirit and He is not who western christendom says He is. Listen and see if your perception of the Holy Spirt and the promises of God are correct.

False prophets have deep roots in the bible. The first false prophet, Satan, became the prince of this world with his false grace message. The trend continues in this chapter of Jeremiah. Jeremiah is warning the people with his “negative” message and the false prophets are tickling the peoples ears with their “positive” message. The people flock to the false prophets and give their tithes and offerings to them. Sounds familiar? While Jeremiah is upholding God’s standard and judgment the false prophets are preaching peace, peace, peace. Ask yourself would you have liked Jeremiah or the false prophets message. Would the pimps false grace message of love, comfort, joy, and assurace appeal to you?

When a leader corrects someone in the assembly of God, if it is done according to scripture, it is not the leader that is correcting it is God. If a leader advises an assembly to forgive, if I is according to scripture, it is not the leader who commands it, it is God. Paul instructs the Corinthians in these very things so that Satan can not have advantage over them. But what exactly did he mean? He describes his ministry as a sweet savor of Christ. What did that mean in a Roman culture?

If we don’t think that there are benefits in acquiring wisdom, we will be inclined to do things according to our feelings and live our lives the way we want instead of the way God wants us to. The consequences of rejecting wisdom is often overlooked. In this 2nd chapter of Proverbs, Solomon describes the benefits of acquiring wisdom but he also tells us what will happen to us if we don’t.

How can Jesus and the Father be one without being the same person? How does the trinity work or is that just a creation of men? How do Jesus, the Father, and The Holy Spirit identify themselves in scripture? Is it more important for me to love God or that he loves me? What are these things that the Holy Spirit will teach? Why is the Holy Spirit called the Comforter? These questions answered, and more, in this chapter of John.

Everyone talks about having a “personal relationship” with God. But do you know what that means? In God’s view he sees this relationship as a faithful husband who expects his loving wife to be faithful. So how does he see us when we are unfaithful… as slutty whores in heat. That’s right! The imagery is so vivid God left no room for us to wonder how he sees our disobedience and rebellion. In this chapter of Jeremiah, God reveals the slutty whoredoms of Judah and Israel who are likened to animals in heat! Saints, this is a chapter to test yourselves by. Measure yourselves to see if you have some whoredoms that need to be revealed and judged.
